Local Guide Press publishes state-by-state directories of local contractors. Every listing is verified against the state's contractor license register, and every page says when that check was done.
What we publish
Each title covers one trade in one state. The main list is built from public business records, not from who paid to be there. We show the license status we found, the date we looked, and the service details a business publishes about itself. We do not reproduce reviews or star ratings.

How a listing gets on a site
We start with public records: state license registers, business registrations, and the business's own website. A business is listed when it appears in those sources with a service area inside the title's state. Nobody needs to apply, and nobody can pay to be placed in the main list. Sponsored placements, where they exist, are labeled "Sponsored" and sit apart from the main list.
How to correct a listing
If a listing is wrong or out of date, email editor@localguidepress.com with the business name, the page address, and what should change. The editor replies and makes the correction, usually within five business days. Corrections are noted on the page with a date.
Verify or claim your business
Business owners can confirm their listing is accurate, add or correct service details, or ask for a listing to be removed. Write from an address at the business's own domain, or include something that shows you speak for the business, such as the license number on file. See the contact page for what to include.
Who edits these sites
